More than 25 years ago Fiber Roofing extruded and made its first Fiber Reed Synthetic Tile. When we started with the synthetic tiles we had manufactured and sold more than 1 million Cape Reed Tiles worldwide and the recipe to embed Cape Reed stalks into a Polyurethane strip had been perfected. The same tested method that had been used to embed the Cape Reed stalks into the Polyurethane backing strip we used to embed the Polypropylene round extruded mono-phi laments.

The Fiber Synthetic Reed tiles were sold via the Fiber distributor network and as “partners” together a first project let to another to another until the Fiber Reed Synthetic Tiles became the first choice on projects across the globe for architects and resort developers.

The Fiber Reed require 5.4 tiles per square meter to provide a smooth completely natural looking grated thatch finish that will even convince people familiar with thatch roofing of its authenticity. Often these people will only realize that the thatch is synthetic after physically touching the roof.    We have the capacity and technology colour match our synthetic material to any natural material or to any colour specified by a customer.

Materials Recycling

Polypropylene that we extrude to manufacture Fiber Reed and Fiber Palm is fully recyclable. We currently ad up to 20% of our own first generation recycled material to the virgin polymer used for the extrusion process.
