Option 1- The “Sandwich System – The Ultimate”

The System Option 1:

To Explain:

1. A proper Truss System from either Rustic Timber or Machined Timber is required. Please note that with Synthetic Thatch Roofs the slope can  be as low as 18 degrees.

2.On top of the Timber frame a ceiling board/mat are stapled to give the desired aesthetic look.

3. 10 mm waterproofed FR-MO Boards are fastened with stainless-steel screws onto the Timber Frame. Ceiling mats can with stainless-steel staples be stapled from the bottom to make sure that there is no “sagging” of the ceiling mats. Our 10 mm waterproofed FR-MO Boards with our Fiber Synthetic Thatch guarantee a 50 year+ maintenance free roof, so to make sure that there is no “weak link” Fiber Roofing supply all the stainless-steel screws and staples as well as the water sealant chemicals and cloth at NO CHARGE!!!

4. Vertical from the top to the bottom 38 mm × 38 mm (1¼″ × 1¼”) CCA P/T Machined Timber is be fitted from top to bottom 600 mm (24″) apart to create a cavity for water pipes, electric conduit, etc.

5. Then a Second 10 mm waterproofed FR-MO Board fastened onto the battens. This second FR-MO Board is the base for the Fiber Synthetic Tiles to be stapled on.

6. Then either Fiber Reed Tiles or Fiber Ocean Tiles are stapled from the bottom to the apex to cover the complete roof.

Option 2: “FR-MO Board” With A Timber Grid System

The System option 2:

The Material is exactly the same than in “Option-1“, except that instead of two FR-MO Boards a grid system provides the backing for the Fiber tiles to be stapled onto.

The grid system is created with 38 mm × 38 mm (1¼″ × 1¼”) CCA P/T Machined Timber, vertical spaced 600 mm (24″) centers and horizontal 200 mm (8″) apart. The Fiber Thatch Synthetic Tiles are stapled onto the horizontal timber battens.

Option 4: The Inside And Outside Look Exactly The Same Only With a FR-MO Board In Between

The One & Only Resort, a client, desired a certain look, appearance exactly than what they have with the natural thatch. They explained their requirements and took us to a chalet to show us. The client wanted that the appearance must be exactly as the look on the outside. (See pictures below):

We designed a special Ceiling Synthetic Tile.

We constructed a sample frame. Note that the binding strips on the tiles can be spaced so far apart that the tile is only stapled onto every second batten. The spacing of the binding tiles can also be adjusted to accommodate branding spaces on exciting roofs.

We stapled a Fiber Indian Ocean edge tile at the bottom onto the frame

The ceiling tiles are then stapled from the bottom to the top with rustic side of the tile on the underside, the smooth side to the top, until the complete frame is covered.

FR-MO Board is then placed on top of the ceiling tiles stapled onto the frame. Note that the color of the waterproof layer can match the color of the Fiber Synthetic Tiles. The waterproofed FR-MO Board is screwed.

The Fiber Thatch Indian Ocean Tiles are stapled from the bottom to the top on the FR-MO Board.
